Clears throat…
As everyone is busy trying so hard to maintain their steeze Nvidia also isn’t left out, at all!
Oh yea! I know you saw the news about the split too but didn’t bother following through because you know I’m surely gonna break it down for you in plain englisssh (as usual😅)
Of course, you were right, becos “Here I am!! just for you!
Oya!!… grab a snack and fasten your seatbelts because this one is gonna be a long talk from history (Trust me it’s not gonna be your regular history), to understanding what Nvidia’s steeze is all about and its implications
1, 2, 3 Let’s go!!
I hope you’re aware Nvidia is one of the few companies to have exceeded a $3 trillion market cap,👀👀 Well, If you don’t know about it, then I must say “I’m shocked on your behalf” 🥱becuzzz…. Why not? I mean even newborn babes are aware — that you can’t talk about GPU and AI services without mentioning Nvidia!!
Anywayzzzz… Nvidia isn’t just pressing necks with its market cap but also with the 10-for-1 stock split it just implemented.
How it all Started!
Some weeks ago, Nvidia’s stock was trading above $1000 which was very high for most people who wanted to partake in the eating out of the cake but couldn’t afford it. So, Nvidia in its Jesus mind decided to show mercy to whom mercy is due.
What did Nvidia do?
It went ahead to share its stock into 10 parts. Although this isn’t the first time it has embarked on a split, this particular 10-for-1 stock split is the highest so far.
Apparently what this means is that for everyone with 1 “stockpie, that 1 will be shared into 10 parts, and also, the number of stocks available will increase. Thereby, making it easy for smaller investors to eat out of the national cake. So imagine having 100 shares? Whoa! That’s huge!!
Yeah! so, believe me when I say Nvidia has really maintained its Steeezzzzeee since the dawn of time!! 🤣🤣🤣
This split took effect on June 10th and the price of shares dropped from over $1000 to $129 and most people are hoping it hits 140 sooner than we think. Anyway, the split has attracted so many investors. I mean who wouldn’t want to chill with the big boys!! 🤣🤣🤣
Wondering how they grew to this point? Keep reading
The Nvidia Story or Should we Say Chronicles???
So, sometime in April 1993, some really cool tech guys came together; Jensen Huang, Chris Malachowsky, and Curtis Priem to establish an American multinational corporation and technology company – Nvidia Corporation.
Yeah! The goal was to design and supply graphics processing units (GPUs), application programming interfaces (APIs) for data science and high-performance computing, as well as system-on-a-chip units (SoCs) for the mobile computing and automotive market. Also, Nvidia is a dominant supplier of artificial intelligence (AI) hardware and software.
I guess you imagine a company with huge manufacturing facilities… But Lemme shock you!
Nvidia doesn’t have manufacturing facilities. The company works according to the fabless principle. This means it outsources its manufacturing process. This isn’t bad anyway as long you still make some “cool dough”
And in late 1999 Nvidia hit a significant milestone. These guys released their best seller product “GeForce 256 (NV10)”. It was a real ‘Wow’ moment for the company because it was the first product expressly marketed as a GPU, and was most notable for introducing on-board transformation and lighting (T&L) to consumer-level 3D hardware.
The product was the coolest kid in the block for a while and now AI services have got the swag!
In 1999, seeing how well its product was performing, Nvidia got listed on the NASDAQ and that same year, it delivered its ten millionth graphics chip. Over the years, Nvidia’s stock experienced remarkable growth, reflecting the company’s success and market dominance.
As of mid-2018, the company was valued at approximately US $155 billion and currently, it has a market cap of $3.188 Trillion.
With its consistent focus on delivering high-performance GPUs and expanding into new markets, it has attracted several investors, and its stock has witnessed impressive gains, reaching record highs and outperforming many of its competitors.
Now see how far they have gone and it’s definitely not a mistake to say “Nvidia never disappoints!!!”
