Tired of Elon’s Tesla Yet? Okay, Bitcoin
Yes, you heard. We did too. It’s insane!!! We knowww! #AllShadesOfWow
So Elon is trying something new. Cryptos. It’s no news. LIKE!
Retail investors be like: We here for it!
Elon’s focus on certain coins, alongside him using his influence is interesting to see… but then here’s the shocker [like slick-shocker] On Monday, the electric car maker revealed a $1.5 billion investment in the world’s most valuable cryptocurrency, prompting a sudden 14% price surge. [Bet, of kezz] Although Musk said he personally owns zero cryptocurrencies, apart from 0.25 BTC that a friend sent him many years ago, Tesla car lovers would be able to pay the company with Bitcoin in no time! Also on Wednesday with a single tweet, Mr. Musk, yet again, sent the price of Dogecoin skyrocketing, after claiming that he has bought some for his son: “Bought some dogecoin for lil X, so he can be a toddler hodler,” he tweeted, referring to his 9-month-old baby X Æ A-Xii, .
Must be nice to, you know, trend at every move but that seems to be a Trump or Elon hack.
You Get a Pay-Cut. It’s Raining Pay-Cuts… On The Street!
Hehe ! Not ya …but a handful of top banks in the US slashed the salaries of their CEOs for the year 2020, claiming firm’s underperformance in 2020 in lieu of the pandemic. [But ermm if we remember correctly, 2020 earnings were off the charts for these investment banks though.. No? Pandemic volumes & volatility but let me not juggle your memories too much] Citigroup Inc and Bank of America Corp (BOA) are top of the line. At Citigroup, the bank cut CEO Michael Corbat’s pay by 21% to $19m and BOA also cut CEO Brian Moynihan’s pay by 7.5% to $24.5m. DJ Sol didn’t miss out on the party either. Goldman Sachs’ David Solomon took about a $10m cut, down to $17.5m, after some settlement offers by the bank. Wells Fargo’s Charles Scharf took home $20m after a 12% cut.
I’m just here like…
If that’s a cut…
Las Las sha it’s still double digits million dollar annual pay. I could use a decent fraction of that. Let’s be carefully guided, pls.
Yet Another Good Week
Most U.S. stock indexes rallied up this Friday to close at all-time highs, notching another modest weekly gain. The S&P 500 rose 1.2% for the week, Dow Jones Industrial Average added 1%, and Nasdaq Composite advanced 1.7%. The S&P 500 has risen 4.8% in 2021, while the Nasdaq Composite has gained 9.4%. The Russell 2000 index of small-cap stocks, which tends to do well when the economy is strengthening, has advanced 16% in the new year.
Hopes for a better tomorrow, init?
Toyota 2030
The number 1, most popular, car brand in Nigeria, Toyota Motors, has said it will launch three new electric car models in the U.S. this year.
The company cited research supporting plug-in hybrid vehicles as being roughly equivalent to battery-powered vehicles in greenhouse-gas emissions from on-road performance. [Yep, flew over our heads too.] Just know that the models will include two battery electric vehicles and one plug-in hybrid vehicle. The company said the models will contribute to its goal for 25% of its new-vehicle sales to be electrified by 2025, with 70% electrified models by 2030.
